May 2013 Ipsy Bag

This is one of the cutest bags they've had. Makes me happy and feels like summer is here!
But it's not.
Either way. Love the bag this month!
Look at all these goodies!

Yaby Concealer Refill in Vanilla
I've been wanting to try this because as an artist on Camera Ready Cosmetics it's one of the products they have and they're inexpensive.
Unfortunately I got the color Vanilla which is the lightest of them all.
I can't use it but I can use it in my kit.

Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Stargazer (BONUS ITEM)
A lot of people were saying this is a gold color. I have to say it's more of a gold/green but
definitely not yellow toned. It's beautiful. It's messy though, being glittery, I had a lot of fallout but I want to experiment with it more and see what works.

Mirabella Colour Sheers Lipstick in Daydream
This lipstick is super soft on the lips although I felt I wasn't getting a lot of product on my lips, I assume that's because it's a sheer formula. It's a gorgeous color and worked out nicely on me.
When I swatched it, there was a lot of a shimmery sheen to it that didn't appear on my lips which is awesome cause I don't like shimmer lipsticks.

Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Perfume Roll On
This is very floral scented. Not a big fan, as I like scents that are sweet.
It's a nice scent, but I'm going to see if my mom wants it, because florals are more her thing.

Zoya Nail Polish in Piaf
This is a very pretty color even though I don't think it will flatter my skintone, but I have on Shellac on my nails and can't test it out yet. I've been dying to get a Zoya nail polish though, because I've heard so much about them and they always have great sales.
Super excited to try out!

NuMe Finishing Serum
When I went to squeeze some product out of the dropper, it fell like "plop" if that means anything to you. Usually one of these droppers it comes out in drops or whatever, but the viscosity of this serum is much thicker than others. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. I like it, but I haven't noticed anything with my hair, having this on.

My look with a few of the products.
Wearing the lipstick, perfume and eyeshadow on top of a green eye look.

Update!

Hello Readers & Friends!

So, I haven't been posting much lately. Here's the deal.
Lots of construction going on at my house and so I can't really be in my room
which is where I store my photos and do my blogging. I can blog upstairs but I
don't know how to add photos and stuff....Macs confuse me on that part, plus
it's used by a few people so I don't want to overload it with all my stuff.
I'll try and do some blogging from my phone but honestly it doesn't ever come
out the way I want it to.

What's up in my neck of the woods?

Been loving working the floor at school, performing facials and brow and lash tints.
It's a really fun job and I learn a lot about different skin types.
I even got someone to re-book with me and sold some product so I'm happy.
I've always been kinda shy with people and I think it'd definitely boosting my confidence
in just starting conversation and stuff.

I also did makeup for my old school, the fashion academy in Seattle, WA and they had an amazing
runway show, I'm so proud of them. I did makeup for a line that was designed for a more mature
woman, with a western flair. We did a burgundy to purple eye and a dark red lip with a more brown/orange undertone. It looked really pretty and it was simple yet pulled it together.

Also, I did makeup for my current school's hair competition that they participated in.
It was sugar skull makeup and it was my first time trying it but it turned out really pretty.
We ended up winning the competition. How cool is that?

So I've had an eventful few weeks.
I hope to get back to my blog soon and giving makeup and skincare tips and more.

<3 you all!

Forever 21+ HAUL

I was in desperate need of pants.
My other Forever 21+ jeans were done.
Some of my Hydraulic jeans are ruined.
I just ripped a pair of Torrid jeans which
I'm super dissapointed about because of
how expensive they are.
Anyways, I was in need.

I also grabbed a few tops & then I have another haul of
panties and stuff from Debs that I may post if you guys
aren't offended by some sexy undies haha

Here we go :]

1. Spiked & Studded Tee in Size 2X Black $19.80
I really loved the shirt more when I got it. I'm a sucker for studs and spikes. Always have been and I love that it's a huge trend lately. Very simple detail that spruces up a basic black tee.
2. Cutout Racerback Button Up in Size 3X Black $22.80
This is really cute and flowy. On the woven tops, I bought 3X's because I find the 2X's to be small in the arm and shoulder and sometimes boobs. So better to be bigger than tight or uncomfortable.
3. Curve Stitch Pocket Shirt in Size 3X $22.80
I love this top more in person. I mean I know it said that it was a pocket shirt but didn't really see it in the picture. Looks super cute. The color is so pretty too :]

4. Pyramid Studded Skinny Jeans in Size 18 $24.80
I grabbed these because they're a full length jean just cuffed. I love the studs and I think they're beautiful lol
 5. Colored Stretchy Skinny Jeans in Size 18 in Black & Lime $19.80
Love the colors in here. This lime color almost neon is an IT color this spring. It's honestly everywhere and I had to grab a pair for myself since I think It'd be easier to wear this color on the bottom than as a top.
6. Fab Skinny Jeans in Size 18 $14.80
These are one of the pairs of jeans I was replacing, because I love the fit. They're super cheap and perfect basic skinny jeans.
That's It!
I'll be posting the Debs Haul next week when I get my package.

Sugaring Hair Removal

The main reason I chose the school I did for Esthetics is because they offered teaching in sugaring.
I've always been interested in sugaring hair removal, because it's natural, however I didn't realize just how awesome it really is.

Benefits:
  • Natural
  • Water Soluble
  • No Risk of Burning or Ripping Skin
  • Great for Sensitive skin
  • Can lead to permanency
  • Can remove hair as short as 1/16", ideally 1/8",
meaning you can remove it quicker than with waxing
  • Doesn't adhere to live skin
Just going to show you a peek of what it is:
Here's my leg hair....kinda short, prickly......
Your esthetician will be wearing gloves to perform this service
The area that will be sugared will be cleansed and powder will be applied. They'll take some sugar paste, this is a much smaller amount than they'd use by the way lol, just showing you what it's like. Usually about a golf ball size for the legs.
It will be spread onto the leg and molded into the hairs and then flicked off.
 Can you see the hairs?
The sugar paste will turn into a thicker, more white paste once it's been used a lot.
But check out all those hairs.
The reason it turns that color is because of dead skin or any spray tan or powder.

& that's a quick look at sugaring. Now, when I said earlier in the benefits that it leads to permanency, that means that the longer you get sugared, the less hair you'll grow.
I noticed after one waxing and one sugaring, my underarm hair growing much finer to where I couldn't tell it was growing. This is great for anyone who is thinking laser, because this is so much safer and natural and yea you need to maintain it monthly but once you're at the point of the hair barely coming out it will be worth it.

If you're ever in Washington, come see me to try it out.

Review: La Dolce Vita

La Dolce Vita is a shop on Etsy. I LOVE Etsy. They have really cool stuff and lots of handmade products. I was in need of new skincare so I checked them out and bought a few different products.

 Ocean Mineral Face Wash: 2/5
I didn't like this. First off, being that it's derived from ocean minerals it just smells like that and it's unpleasant for me and I'm picky about smells.
It's not foaming which is just my being picky. Even with a good amount of product, I would have to cleanse my face twice if I wanted it clean which is kind of inconvenient. I noticed when toning lots of makeup left on my face. I didn't notice any improvement in my skin either.
It's like a gel-consistency. Small bottle for the price although, considering it's made to order and contains so many minerals and vitamins it's not a big deal.
Didn't work for me.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid Toner: 4/5
Now, being that I have no other AHA products or anything similar to it I don't notice any change in my skin significantly, however I really like this product. It smells good. I think it does a great job of toning the skin and absorbs quickly. Feels refreshing.
I put the contents into an empty UD All Nighter Spray bottle, since that sprays a fine mist and I've been misting my face and then soaking a bit into cotton rounds and wiping off my face.

Vegetable Protein Deodorant Stick: 4/5
Loved this, until my daughter decided it was fun to play with and had it all over her hands.
Short lived, may it RIP. I still try and use it lol.
It worked pretty well. Smells amazing since it smells like Pink Sugar, similar to cotton candy.
It dried and kept me pretty sweat free for a few hours and smelling good. I think it's a good everyday deodorant and you might have to reapply once or twice throughout the day.
For a long day, I used my Dove deodorant, because it's longer lasting.

Ocean Mineral Complex Moisturizer: 3/5
This is a nice moisturizer. Doesn't have much of a smell which is nice. It feels very rich on the skin, however it absorbs nicely and doesn't look or feel greasy after it's soaked into the skin.
Nothing incredible, just a simple moisturizer. This is A LOT of product for the price, so it's worth getting. I need something with SPF though, so this isn't for me, however I will use at night.

Whipped Body Frosting: 3/5
This is a wonderful body butter. Smells really good and softens skin. I don't find it long lasting, but it's definitely moisturizing. What I hate is how small of a package it is...
I've used it up and I wasn't using it everyday I'd use it every now and then so I wouldn't waste it.
I do think it's a bit...greasy? or sticky? afterwards. I can't describe it. After a while it sometimes feels like that. I notice most lotions or body butters do that.

Check out the store HERE, they have a TON of products and scents to choose from. Plus they aren't expensive. Good price for handmade products and they make them to order so you're getting fresh product.
Fast shipping too, I got mine within 3 days of the shipping date.

Weight Loss.....Is it such a pretty picture?

Most of you would say, "Of course!" but let's think about this a bit deeper.
I recently saw an article on Yahoo, HERE, where this woman wrote a book about her experience
with weight loss surgery. She lost all this weight but still didn't feel satisfied and it just threw off her perception of things.
I  think you should all take a peek at it, I find it inspiring that she's willing to share.

Now, I've watched people in my life deal with weight loss and one thing I always notice is that no matter how much weight you lose, you're never satisfied. There's always something to look at and be unhappy with. Or even if you've lost a big amount of weight, the feelings you though you'd have aren't there.

I thought for the longest time that I needed to be skinny to be happy, but I overcame that, I overcame depression and being suicidal and I did that without losing weight.
After puberty, I gained weight easily, my breasts became large, I got thicker and curvier.
Not only is it a bit awkward to have a rather womanly body in middle school while everyone else looks like stick figures, but rather than seeing you and thinking you're growing or you're developing rapidly, it's looked at as fat.
I was poked fun at for my weight not by classmates but my family and boys.
Anyways, I overcame all that and I'm about 250lbs I'm 5'8 and I'm comfortable and happy with myself, I don't feel the need to lose weight and I'm happier at this weight than I've ever been.
Do I look at weight loss as stupid? Not at all. I would love to workout to tone my body but I love my curves and don't want to lose that. I want to look like me, but toned rather than having that flabby middle I got from having a child.

Will I feel better? Most likely.

I wouldn't pursue weight loss to be happy because it will never happen, I will pursue it to love myself even more and be a healthy size 18.

You need to love yourself at your size before you can move on into weight loss. You'll still have insecurities, you'll still feel unhappy and still feel like you aren't acheiving what you thought you would if you don't take the time to love yourself and be confident in yourself at any size.

Eloquii to Be Discontinued

In case you haven't heard, Eloquii is going to be discontinuing the line. It sucks! The Limited was eager to have this line and now I guess it's just not working. I mean I wouldn't say their stuff is out of this world or paper cutter but they had a great selection of clothes for the professional working woman. Colorful clothes and fashion forward silhouettes.

Take advantage of the sales that will be going on because of that and remember to support your plus size brands because this stuff happens. Get the word out about brands.
